Our COVID-19 Protocol

Dear our precious customers,

We take our guests’ and employees’ safety and health seriously. To protect your and our health and safety, we are adhere to all federal and local measures and we requests all of our employees and guests to follow our protocol against COVID-19 listed below.

Protocol for our guides
  • Guides are required to check their temperature and health state every day ahead of work.
  • Guides are required to wear face masks whenever possible.
  • Guides are required to sanitize their hands before and after all tours.
  • Guides showing symptoms of Covid-19 will not be permitted to guide and will be required to get Covid test before they return to work or two weeks have lapsed without symptoms.
  • Protocol for our guests
  • Guests are required to wear masks when on tour.
  • Guests are required to get their temperature and health state checked by our guides at the start of tours.
  • Guests will not be permitted to tour if they have any signs and/or symptoms of Covid-19.
  • Guests will not be permitted to tour if they have been in contact with a positive Covid-19 case within the past two weeks.
  • Guests are required to sanitize their hands at the start of tours.
  • If guest is showing symptoms, all guides have the authority to cancel the tour at anytime.
  • General Protocol
  • Hand sanitizer and extra masks will be available for all guests while on tour.
  • We clean/disinfect rental binoculars, spotting scopes and other equipment before and after tour using Isopropyl alcohol.
  • During transportation and vehicle-based tours, car windows will be open to let the air flow as much as possible.
  • Picchio Shiretoko stays committed to your safety during this time and is constantly adapting to the rapidly changing situation. Thank you for your understanding and all of your support.
