本日10月9日は国連が制定した #世界渡

本日10月9日は国連が制定した #世界渡り鳥の日。
春から夏にいた夏鳥が去り、代わりに冬鳥がやって来ます。
この国際デーは、渡り鳥の生態学的重要性、直面する脅威やそれらから保護する国際協力の必要性について、世界的な認知を高めることを目的としています。

今回の写真は夏鳥である #ハチクマと、冬鳥である #ツグミ。
ハチクマはこれから東南アジアへと旅立ち、ツグミは遥か極東ロシアからやって来ます。
まだ冬鳥の到着は確認できていませんが、この季節を境に夏には見られなかった鳥たちが姿を現します。

ピッキオ軽井沢の拠点である国設軽井沢野鳥の森は年間約８０種類の野鳥を観察することが出来る豊かな森です。
たくさんの鳥たちに出会えるこの森をいつまでも残していくために、私達はできることを続けていきます。

As wintering birds come and take the place of the summer visitors, we celebrate　#WorldMigratoryBirdDay. This international day was established by the United Nations in order to raise global awareness of the ecological importance of migratory birds, the threats they face, and the need for international cooperation to protect them.

As the Crested Honey Buzzards get ready to travel to southeast Asia for the winter, the Naumann's Thrushes will start arriving to spend the winter in Japan, having flown all the way from Russian Far East.

The arrival of Japan's winter birds has yet to be confirmed but it won't be long before they start to appear. A forest in which many birds can thrive is something worth preserving!

September 17-26 is the United Nations' #GlobalGoal

September 17-26 is the United Nations' #GlobalGoals Week.
During this week, various events are held in each country to raise awareness of the international "Sustainable Development Goals" or "SDGs" adopted by the UN Member States in September 2015.
The SDGs aim to achieve a sustainable future for all by 2030.
In other words, part of their goal is to create a world where people and nature can successfully coexist.
Since its establishment in 1992, Picchio has been operating nature tours, bringing people closer to nature while also working to conserve the local flora and fauna, such as the Asiatic black bears.
Through this, we hope to increase the value of the forest and preserve the lives of all the species living there for the future.
We believe that Picchio's activities can play an important part in creating a sustainable future, and we will continue to do what we can to achieve the SDGs by 2030.

知床の魅力をお伝えするスペシャル投稿第三弾は下村（しもむら）が担当致します！
私はオーストラリアの大学院で野鳥の研究をして以来、野鳥の虜になってしまいました。知床やその周辺地域は、バードウォッチングの聖地です。特に5月から6月上旬にかけては、多くの種類が繁殖のために知床へ渡ってきます。私の手の中にいる鳥（写真）は、オオジシギという、オーストラリア東部からはるばる7,000km以上の旅を経て北海道などへやってくる夏鳥です。
（この鳥は足輪調査のため、環境省の特別な許可を得て捕獲しており、このあと無事に放鳥されました。）
野鳥は一番身近な野生動物であり、日本でもさらに注目されてよい存在だと思います。ここ知床で野鳥を観察する楽しさや、保全することの意味をみなさまと分かち合いたいと願っています。鳥たちに会いに是非知床へ遊びに来てくださいね！
