Steller’s Sea Eagles and White-tailed Eagles migrate to Shiretoko from the Russian Far East during winter, where they find rich feeding grounds in the cold seas of the Sea of Okhotsk. These powerful raptors primarily feed on fish, and on clear days, you may witness their impressive hunting techniques as they dive into the icy water to catch prey. The sight of these majestic birds soaring through the winter sky is one of the highlights of Shiretoko in winter.
